Get Ready to Shakeout! 

Join us for the Great ShakeOut, California’s statewide earthquake preparedness drill! On this day, millions of Californians will practice how to protect themselves during an earthquake. At 10:16 am on October 16th, we’ll take part in the drill by practicing the life-saving action:

Drop, Cover, and Hold On

• Drop to your hands and knees to prevent being knocked over.

• Cover your head and neck under a sturdy desk or table, or with your arms if no shelter is nearby.

• Hold On until the shaking stops.

This simple drill helps us build muscle memory so that in a real earthquake, our response is automatic. Earthquakes can strike without warning, and practicing ahead of time is one of the best ways to reduce injury and save lives.
