Due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in Los Angeles County, the El Segundo Fire Department, until further notice, will not be performing walk-up counter plan review service. If you would like a fire protection only counter plan review, you will need to do the following:

1. Review the notice “ESFD Notice on Plan Review Limitations”.

2. Request a counter plan review by e-mailing a request to jcarver@elsegundo.org.

3. We will not be rechecking electronically submitted plans at the counter. Electronic submitted plans must stay in the electronic submittal and review process.

4. A minimum of 3 working days prior to the appointment, complete a “City of El Segundo Planning and Building Safety Department, Permit Application” and submit online to permits@elsegundo.org. Advise in the e-mail you are bringing plans in for fire protection counter plan review.

5. When you arrive for the appointment, call Fire Marshal James Carver at (424) 367-9351. On time arrival (opposed to early arrival) is recommended as Building Safety Staff will not be letting customers in the building.

As always, counter plan reviews are dependent on emergencies and staff availability due to illness and unexpected time off.
